You can give your silver jewelry a new shine with simple tricks
You can use toothpaste not only to clean your teeth, but also your silver jewelry! Simply put some paste on a soft toothbrush, rub the silver jewelry with it and leave it to work for a short time. Then all you have to do is rinse the Jewelry with water and your silver will shine again!
Baking soda not only makes the cake rise, it can also be used to clean your favorite Jewelry. Simply add a packet of baking soda to a bowl of water and leave the silver jewelry in it overnight. When you take the Jewelry out of the water in the morning, you can enjoy the attractive sparkle.
Vinegar is a popular household product that is used in a wide variety of areas. To clean your silver jewelry with vinegar, place it in a bowl lined with aluminum foil. Then cover the Jewelry with a layer of salt and add vinegar. Leave the solution to work for a while. Remove the Jewelry - and it shines again!
Place some aluminum foil in a heatproof bowl. Add a teaspoon of salt and place your jewelry in the bowl. Pour hot, no longer boiling water over the whole thing. The aluminum foil will turn black during this process and your piece of jewelry will shine like silver again. Only leave the Jewelry in the solution for 1-2 minutes - the aluminum foil and the salt can only absorb a limited number of electrons, if you leave the Jewelry in the water for too long, it will turn black again.
To prevent your silver from discoloring, you can put some chalk in the drawer with the Jewelry. The chalk absorbs the hydrogen sulphide in the air and prevents the Jewelry from tarnishing. In this way, you can maintain the shine of your Jewelry many times longer without cleaning it.
These cleaning tips are only suitable if the Jewelry is made entirely of silver. Gemstones, pearls or other metals may be damaged by using these methods. If you are unsure whether you can clean your Jewelry, we will be happy to advise you!
