Advantages and disadvantages of the most common types

Just put it around your wrist and you're done? A stunning luxury watch enchants with its elegance and impressive look, but without a watch clasp even the most beautiful watch will not stay in place. Although buckles are usually made of metal, they are not used especially for watches with metal bracelets, but mainly for leather, textile, rubber or synthetic bracelets. The buckle owes its name to a thorn-shaped tip that is inserted through the holes in the bracelet. A small strap or metal eyelet that grips the end of the bracelet ensures a secure hold.

The advantage of the buckle is that you can vary the bracelet width yourself as needed. If you still need additional holes for the watch clasp or the bracelet possibly turns out to be too long, we will of course adjust the bracelet for you free of charge. Here you can find our contact details.

While buckles have a more traditional character, watches with folding clasps look modern. You can also open and close your watch bracelet more easily and quickly with a folding clasp. The butterfly folding clasp owes its name to two metal bars that open in both directions like the wings of a butterfly. Some butterfly deployant clasps have a pusher that allows you to snap open the watch clasp. Other watches with butterfly clasps come without a pusher. Of course, you can also find timepieces with butterfly deployant clasps in our online store, as with the colorful Rado Le Corbusier models

Please note: When ordering, please specify the circumference of your wrist so that we can adjust the bracelet length for you.

Unlike butterfly clasps, tilt-folding clasps have only one metal bar that opens in one direction. The look of tilt-folding clasps varies: some have a pusher attached to the side, which allows you to easily open the clasp. Most often, these watch clasps are attached to the watch band with the help of a spring bar. The preferred material for tilt folding clasps is stainless steel.

Just like the tilt-folding clasps, safety folding clasps only open to one side. In addition, this watch clasp still has a safety bar that you can open and close separately. In this way, the watch sits particularly securely on the wrist and never opens accidentally.

The safety folding clasp is therefore also suitable for sports watches, such as the Longines Conquest. It is also used on watches with stainless steel or silicone bracelets, such as the Baume & Mercier automatic watch with white dial and stainless steel bracelet. We also customize bracelets with safety folding clasp for you free of charge.
