The manufactory's nautical roots go back to its earliest days. Mühle Glashütte once began building marine chronometers and ship's watches. These pragmatic timepieces are more reality than appearance. In 1995, Mühle Glashütte received a request to produce a robust, water-resistant wristwatch as a ship's equipment, in addition to its actual main field of marine chronometers and traditional ship's watches. This was the prelude to the production of the wristwatches and special watches that are so sought-after today.
